Salads

LOVE salads.  My favorite salad by far is a Cobb salad with a few modifications for my personal taste.  The only warning I'll give on salads is to be careful to track EVERYTHING you put on it.  I weigh every single item I add to my salads.  You can easily accidentally go over your carb count or if you're tracking calories, your calorie count too.  Especially with salads that have higher calorie ingredients.  And the dressing... be careful!

Favorite Salads

Cobb Salad:  
Hearts of romaine
Hard boiled egg
Bacon
Cheese (I like shredded colby jack or shredded parmesan)
Diced tomato


Taco Salad:
Shredded ice burg lettuce
Shredded cheddar cheese
Taco meat seasoned with homemade taco seasoning
Salsa
Sour Cream
Scallions


Veggie Only:
Hearts of romaine
Green Pepper
Cucumber
Shredded cheese
Diced tomato
Homemade ranch dressing


Chicken Caesar Salad:
Hearts of romaine
Grilled chicken
Parmesan cheese (shredded or grated though I prefer shredded)
Caesar Dressing (I use a store bought brand but be choosy - watch the carbs and ingredients on these.  I'm currently looking for a good, healthy homemade recipe.  I'll update this when I find one)



This one looks good!  I may have to try it next!!
